It was almost 9 o’clock in the evening. I just had a full dose of pizza and chicken wings goodness and a cup of tea or coffee was all I needed to end the good night. I have heard of a French Café around the Green Fields area and so my partner and I set off to that direction. We were not able to see it at first but we followed the light. And you should too! 🤗😂
There it is! Velvet Ganache. A French inspired patisserie and boulangerie which is managed by the known Chef Vince Garcia, who is also the mastermind behind the Rainforest Kichene. Velvet Ganache is at Greenfields Commercial Complex, Sindalan, City of San Fernando, Pampanga. This Café opens at 11 AM and closes at 9 PM.
Patisserie is a French bakery that specializes in pastries, cakes, and sweets while boulangerie is a bakery that specializes in baking and selling bread. Velvet Ganache is both. 😉
It was a very luminous and cozy place even from a far so it gives off that warm and welcoming vibe. The walls are painted white so the furniture and fixture stand out. You will easily notice every detail in the room. From the white roses framing the top part of the windows, vintage and pale paintings and photos of flowers, French lanterns and bird cages, shrubs on little pots, white tables and chairs, and chandeliers all add up to a very simple but stylish feel. It was like a painted canvass to me. We were staring at the totality of the place, letting it embrace us. I felt like I wanted to be a part of the pretty picture. And so we went in.
A tall neatly combed waiter with a cute bow tie instantly approached us. I forgot his name, my bad. 🤔😓 I will refer to him as Mr. Nice. 🤗
Mr. Nice: Hello! Welcome to Velvet Ganache, what would you like to have?
Me: Hello, uhhhm, what time do you guys close?
Mr. Nice: 9PM po.
Me: (checks watch which freakingly shows 8:38 PM, I let out a sigh) Ooohh, will you still accept clients by this time?
Mr. Nice: Of course. (smile)
Me: Yay! Okay, may I please have your menu? 😍
Mr. Nice led us to an available table and gave us our menus. That is a very good customer service, I must say, very accommodating. We ordered for Cappuccino. I then checked on their pastries and cakes. Everything was cute, especially the cupcakes. One cake caught my eye though. I stared at it for like a couple of minutes and another server finally approached me. I don’t know his name, for the life of me. I will make sure to check on name plates next time. 😅😂🤗 I will refer to him as Mr. Nice 2.
Me: Oh hi! What is the name of this cake?
Mr. Nice 2: Hi! Red Velvet with Chocolate Ganache Torte po. It’s our best seller.
Me: Ooohhh really? Cool. I would like to have a slice please. Thanks!
Red Velvet with Chocolate Ganache Torte has this glittery, gold and mirror like finish on top that I really find attractive. It was walled with a thin slab of white and milk chocolate bar and is layered with red velvet and ganache. I was hesitating to poke the pretty slice of cake with my cute little fork so I decided to take loads of photos of it as a memorabilia before finally digging in. 😂 With a let out of deep breath, I finally stabbed the lovely cake with my fork, and I was surprised on how soft and smooth it was. My fork slipped through the layers effortlessly. Red Velvet with Chocolate Ganache Torte just had that smooth and moist layer of cake and is complimented by the ganache. It was not very sweet at first so you will surely find yourself taking one bite after the other which is what happened to me.😂😍 I also liked the small hint of dark chocolate somewhere in each bite so it made the taste more interesting. I tried the slab of chocolate bar from the side and it was superabundantly sweet! 😊 So each part of the cake slice has that different level of sweetness that when eaten all together totally sent me to coud 9. 😇😍 My eyes, taste buds and tummy are all happy! Toothsome indeed! It is something that you should not miss so be sure to get a slice of Red Velvet with Chocolate Ganache Torte soon! Who knows, you might order the whole cake after trying one slice?! 😉
Their cappuccino made the whole experience better. They were served in these fascinating cups. Mr. Nice was just about to give my cup and I already mouthed, “Wooooow! Those cups are really cute! “ Mr. Mad Hatter of Alice in Wonderland will surely fancy those as well!
My favorite word that night was cute and I was snapping photos here and there. 😂 I love the way that my interest was aroused with every detail of Velvet Ganache. The cup, cake, cushion, view from the second floor, interior design, even the washroom is very minimalist but intriguing in a very good way. So two thumbs up even if we just stayed there for a couple of minutes!
You can have a sweet romantic moment here with your special someone, a moment to breathe and read a good book all by yourself or enjoy the whole experience with your barkada. You have the option to stay on their veranda and enjoy the night sky or stay indoors and be a part of the “painted canvass”. It will surely be a worthwhile and relaxing moment either way! Visit Velvet Ganache as soon as possible and be a part of the beautiful painting. So yep, it is both a pretty painting and a must visit place for me. I will surely come back! See you soonest! 🤗😉
