Yard Food Park (Angeles), what do you got for 4 weirdos?

4 weird foodies in a car are on their way to check out Yard Food Park. One is an almost-Korean sweetheart, Yna, my most favorite person to bug, Fred, and the inseparable pair of crazy sisters, Clang and Cring. Ha! Guess who’s who! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜Ž

We actually don’t know where Yard Food Park is exactly but there is nothing that Google can’t find, well, except for every moment that my friends lose their glasses or the remote control. πŸ˜‚

Google it and tada! It is found at Magalang-Pandan Road Corner Brgy. Mining Road, Angeles City. Yard Food Park is hard to miss. As soon as you see this sign, you know you are in the right place.πŸ˜‰

Operating hours will be from Tuesday to Sunday, open from 4PM to 12 MN except for Friday and Saturday where in they close at 2AM. You may like their online page to see a map and to know about their most recent events and promotions. Try to visit it as soon as you can! The main establishment is quite modern with all the graffiti and the updated and stacked up cargo or shipping containers which are used to form a 3-storey open building.

The parking lot is at the back and there are 2 entrance, one is from the parking lot and the other is the one that is accessible from the main road. Huge murals of Bruno Mars, Apl de Ap, Michael Jackson, John Lenon and Bob Marley can be seen.

It looks like some walls were strewn with paint and was left dripping until dry. I like how mixed up the designs for the tables and chairs are. Some were customized drum containers, a table with a Mosaic design, high chairs, there was even one which looked like a stool that is made of wooden twigs, (my sister can not sit there, she will pulverize it, kidding! I love you Clang! πŸ˜‹) metal and wooden benches and the ever durable Monoblock. πŸ€—

I don’t know about you but I think, Yard Food Park is screaming with Art. πŸ‘

Which is great! Millennials dig new, cool and instagrammable places! There is a deck at the very top of the building where seats are available and is great for viewing the starry night sky or if you want to enjoy the view with the cool breeze. Yard Food Park is roofless so that can be a challenge for the rainy season but they came up with a temporary solution by using long-white tough material. So no worries, you can still visit it if its drizzling.

Be careful with going up and down the stairs! Okay? Kids, please watch your step. (A note to myself. lol)

The whole area is interesting and unique but what about the food? Let us check them out! There are around 20+ food stalls that you can try! We were able to try some of them but here are the ones that were open, if I missed some of them, you may leave a comment below so we can add them in our list! Here they are!

Urban Crunch, Pizza Panada, Papa Dough Chimney Cake, Tom Tom Mongolian BBQ, Tempura Zen, Wing Bucket, Halal Kabab Express, Juice Lab, Blends and Barrels, Sweet Illusion, Ban Chak Ban Chak Korean Food, Sunny Side Up, Waffs Egg Waffles and Ice Cream, Stoned, Ha-ha Patata, Cheese Scraping Shop Melt by Ranch 90’s Diner, Kanto Currry, Wrap Eat Out, Dotonburi Takoyaki, Ba Ngoai Vietnamese Cuisine, Steak House, House of Frappe, Wild Apron, Green Cube Chicken House, Frozen Hub Creamy Nitrogen, Wipeout Ribs and Grills, Ugly Monkey, Flame Grill Cartel, and Sushi Bar.

The price ranges from 100Php and above. My gang was able to try a couple of their food and drinks! Check them out!πŸ€—

Chicken Alfredo by Pizza Panada ( 345 Php)

A thin but soft crusted pizza topped with Alfredo sauce, mozzarella, chicken breast, ham, mushroom and onion! I usually get the pizza with tomato sauce but I chose this one for a change and I had no regrets. If you want to make your cheat day worth it, try one of their pizzas! This is awesome for sharing but I like it so much so I think I can actually finish most of it. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‹

Shrimp Tempura by Tempura Zen ( 99 Php)

4 nicely breaded shrimp tempura will make your 100 peso bill worth it! Add up the fact, that they are currently running a β€œselfie contest” with 5 000 Php worth of cash prize! Like their page for the mechanics. Break a leg for those who will join!

Tteokbokki by Ban Chak Ban Chak Korean Food

( 120 Php)

Annyeong haseyo! It was my first time to eat Spicy Rice Cake! Yna ordered it and it was fun greeting the owner in his native language. I was very curious and excited since I only see this wolfed down by Kim Bok Joo. ( raise your right pinkie if you know her! πŸ˜‚) It was actually a mix of rice cake, fish cake, and two other long and round ingredients that I’m not familiar with. πŸ˜‚ It was sweet and spicy! I understand now why it is one of the famous street food in Korea and on why they like to eat this when the weather is cold. πŸ˜‚ I enjoyed my first Tteokbokki, try it too! Machiso!

Soy-Garlic Flavored Chicken Wings by Wing Bucket (165 PHP for 6 pieces)

A bucket of crispy chicken wings with my fave soy-garlic flavor sprinkled with sesame seeds! The pricing may vary depending on how many chicken cuts you would like to have. Yna tried the one which was good for 6, not bad. πŸ€—

Nachos fries and Potato Cheese Balls from Ha-Ha Patata ( 175 Php and 99Php)

An overloaded boat filled with nachos, fries, meat, salsa, shredded and melted cheese goodness! Best when hot! You can use your hand but you may need a spoon and fork to shovel this one. Hahaha That is how heavy it is! It is also great for sharing so your barkada will surely enjoy this! Try it soon!

Potato cheese balls is something that I would love to just pop in my mouth in one go if it wasn’t hot. πŸ˜‚ It is filled with soft potato and a cheesy surprise inside and is topped with white cream sauce. Kids and adults will surely love this one! Yummy!

Don’s Haven (All Meat) by Flame Grill Cartel

( 235 Php)

This is one of the Big and Black Burgers which is a stacked combo of black big buns, grilled double patty, bacon, ham, cheese, onions, jalapenos, bbq sauce, Cartel’s secret sauce and pickled cucumber. My mouth watered while typing those out. Hhahhaha It was nicely served in a wooden chopping board. Fred ordered this one and I knew from his look that he was calculating on how to fit it on his mouth without getting messy. πŸ€”πŸ˜‚ They provided him with a plastic knife and plastic hand gloves but it was so big and juicy that you just can’t help getting a few drops of sauce on your shirt. Highly recommended for the boys and for the girls who, like me,  just don’t mind gaping their mouth wide open! *munch*munch*munch*

Oreo Ice Cream by Frozen Hub Creamery Nitrogen

This one was cool! We actually saw how it was made. They use a machine that gives off that smokey effect while the ice cream was made. It was actually cold and Yna really enjoyed it. Hahaha

We weren’t able to try the Angel’s Breath which will make you look like you are in Baguio but that is alright, I will try it next time!

Bacon Takoyaki by Donbori Takoyaki (110 Php for 6 pcs.)

Takoyaki is a ball-shaped Japanese snack which is usually filled with diced octopus or tempura, ginger and green onion, brushed with takoyaki sauce, sprinkled with aonori and dried bonito flakes. This one has bacon instead of octopus so it is quite a modern twist. I popped a ball in my mouth in one swift move and enjoyed it!

Papa Dough Overload and Miss You Tiramisu by Papa Dough ( 179 Php and 169 Php)

Papa dough overload is literally overloaded. πŸ˜‚ It is a mound of freshly baked chimney cake doughnut topped with Nips, salted caramel popcorn, cloud 9, chocolate sprinkles, biscuit with icing. The inside is actually stuffed with nutella and marshmallows! Who would say no to this!

Miss You Tiramisu on the other hand got the same chimney cake doughnut, same ice cream but this one is stuffed with tiramisu instead of nutella and is topped with peanuts, marshmallows, peanuts, and Stick O! I am sure you would also go snappy with photos because both ice creams are super instagrammable! Not to be missed!

Assorted munchkins by Papa Dough ( 99 Php)

Blueberry, Peachmango and Nutella filled puff balls that just burst in your mouth just in case you decide to gobble it! This one is a great snack for kids and is a nice dessert if in any case that you don’t want to go for the ice cream options.πŸ‘πŸ˜‰

Cucumber Juice and Blue Lemonade in a Bulb by Juice Lab ( 100 Php each)

We had fun with these! They were basically the normal juice that we drink but I like the idea of drinking in a bulb. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜Ž Their receipts looked like prescription paper and their sellers were wearing white lab coats which I find cool! They were living up to the name of Juice Lab. Thumbs up!

Frozen Margarita by Ugly Monkey ( 180 Php)

A slushy cocktail which is a blended mix of Triple Sec, Tequila, lime juice and is garnished with freshly sliced lime and topped with cherry.

It was Yna’s first cocktail in her 21 years of Earthly existence. Woohoo! It was an honor to witness it. Hahhaha She loved it! As her β€œAte”, I wanted to make sure that she learns how to drink responsibly and that she goes home safe and sane or her Mom might kill me so I checked on her once in awhile and she handled it well! Good job! Cheers and more to come!

Those are the food and drinks that we have tried but there are so much more so you can go at the Yard and try their steaks, Vietnamese food, curries, kababs and many more!

How about entertainment? Oh you will be surprised! They have bands to keep the nice mood while you enjoy your food every Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday. DJ’s are on every Friday as well! We were able to enjoy  Tutzieroll’s acoustic performance! Just the way you are, Brighter than the sun, Everything, Emotions are some of the songs that they performed. I like the fact that everyone in their band can sing! Kudos to that! πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

Not only that! Two pantomime artists roam around the food park to make sure that everyone is having a jolly and fun moment! One of them even proposed to my sister! Hahahahahah To the guys out there who does not have any ideas yet on how to get a β€œYes”, try what Mr. White did. My sister was just laughing loudly so it must be a yes?πŸ˜‚

However, Yna friendzoned one of them. Ouch. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

She’s one tough cookie. πŸ€”πŸ˜‚ #fistbump

Guess which stall am I going to blog about next?

Clue is right below! πŸ˜‹πŸ˜

Orchid Gardens, all-in-one resort in the Metro

When you hear Orchid Gardens, what comes into your mind? I honestly thought of a Green house, filled with exotic wild flowers and the pretty butterflies, buzzing bees and frogs, a couple of eggshells hanging from the tips of flowering plants (my Dad usually place those after cooking omelet every morning to his orchids before, I’m not sure if it helps though lol) and your Granny sweetly humming while spraying water to make the flowers bloom beautifully. A lovely picture. However, the Orchid Gardens found at Lazatin Blvd., San Juan, San Fernando, Pampanga is more than a Green House!

Will you be shocked if you can actually find a whole array of differently themed restaurants, a gaming center, a hotel, pools, an event center (soon, that will be our not so little secret, πŸ˜‰ haha) and a 7 Eleven Shop? Divergent. I know, I am not even talking about the movie where lovers turned into siblings, if you know what I mean. πŸ˜‚ Orchid Gardens really do exists and is just waiting for you to be discovered! Here is a quick guide, let me take that back, a thousand words with HD photos is not quick, so best to grab your coffee and take your sweet time reading about your next destination, Orchid Gardens Resort. πŸ€—

*The rates are posted at the end of the blog. πŸ˜‰πŸ‘

Why not have your “huling hirit sa tag-init” at Orchid Gardens? It is an all-in-one resort with in the metro! You do not have to go that far to cool off from this scorching heat. You, your friends or barkada can enjoy 4 pools ( plus one private pool at The Tavern). There are 2 wave pools that will surely make you feel like you are at the beach! The waves last for 20 minutes, the interval will depend on the head count but the standard is every 2 hours.   Mind you, that is not me jumping multiple times at the pool to cause beach-like waves, they have  real machines that cause that. But I’m pretty sure that my younger sister would tease me about it no matter how much I explain about it since she calls me the “walking whale”. πŸ‹ Face palm. πŸ˜‚ You can swim through those waves worry-free since there are multiple Red Cross trained life guards who are on the watch to keep everyone safe while enjoying their swim time! πŸ€—πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Kudos for making sure that everyone is still breathing above and under water! There is a regular pool available if you just want to laze around and just sit there for the whole day.  πŸ€—πŸ˜‰

Me: I have heard that you have a jacuzzi in here, where is it?
Laharhey, one of their accomodating staff, pointed to a bubbly pool. I found myself staring at a circular pool with a bunch of kids playing tag or something.
Me: Well, that doesn’t look steamy?
Laharhey: Oh yes Ma’am, we can request to get this bubbly pool go hot or cold depending to our guest’s preference.
Me: Oh I see, that is why it’s cold then since kids are mostly the ones who play in it. Cool idea and very flexible!

I was actually tempted to check if it is a bit warm, because if it is, then something else might have caused it, if you get what I mean. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Excuse me for the gross thought, we all did that when we were kids, if you did not, you missed a lot. Kidding! πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‚Sorry Mama. lolβœŒπŸ˜‚

It will be necessary for you to wear proper swimwear. You can go from a rash guard, beach shorts, trunks, one- piece or two- piece chicken joy that we all love, kidding.πŸ˜‚ Just make sure it is something that can hold everything together when the waves go crashing at you. 😎 Also, you will have to take note that if you will just go for the Resort, you are not allowed to bring cooked food or to cook food inside.  However, they don’t want you to go starving so there are mutliple restaurants and a 7 Eleven shop that you can go chow or buy your food from when you get hungry. This way the whole area is kept clean and in order. πŸ€—πŸ‘

However, if you check-in at The Tavern, you have the option to take in cooked food. What is The Tavern? It is the hotel situated right inside the Orchid Gardens. There are different rooms and villas available for you! You also have the privilege access to an exclusive pool for guests who are staying at The Tavern. Plus, you may also have the option to enjoy the other pools at the Resort if you are a guest at The Tavern.

You might be thinking ,” So they don’t allow cooked food inside, where am I suppose to eat?“πŸ˜πŸ€”
I will now take you to a quick tour of the restaurants that you can try when you visit Orchids Garden!
Let us go to Imang Nene first!πŸ€—πŸ˜Ž

Imang Nene looks like your Granny’s house at first, just a modern one. It is a two-storey building which offers native Kapampangan cuisines. Who is lazy to change into dry clothes after going against the waves? Me! (This blogging thing is revealing too much about me. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚) Worry  no more! Imang Nene can accommodate dripping wet customers at the first floor of their restaurant! Convenient, isn’t it? I think I am too happy about that option. Lol You get to enjoy their delectable food no matter how wet or dry you are. The menu is the same anyway. If you would like to be more formal or do a casual dining with your family or friends, you can do that at Imang Nene as well. They can accomodate 100 pax for corporate meetings and also have 2 private rooms that can accommodate 30 pax each. Versatile, indeed. It is open from 7 Am to 10 Pm.

I like how homey and tasty their menu is so you can actually bring anyone here and you don’t have to worry if he or she is picky with food or if he is not the adventurous type since they offer dishes that are familiar to everyone’s palate. Here are a sample of some of the dishes that you can try at Imang Nene!

Lagat Pusu (Sauteed banana heart) (200 Php)
If you want to go for a veggie dish, this can be one of your options. It has a strong tangy flavor, which is the norm. I like it since even if I am not a total vegetable fan, it has fried pork cutlets and shrimp on top so it is something that I can enjoy still. Thanks for being considerate Imang Nene! lol And yes, I ate a spoonful of this, but no, I did not took all of the toppings. So far, I am doing a great job, I think. πŸ˜‚

Sisig Kapampangan (200 Php)
Chopped grilled pork meat, liver mixed with chilis and onion. A basic in a Kapampangan table. A simple dish which is perfect as a viand or as a “pulutan” since you can also order beverages here at Imang Nene! Perfect for the boys! πŸ˜Ž

Imang Nene’s New Crispy Fried Chicken
Whole chicken deep-fried and pressurized so you can guarantee that the inisde is juicy, but crispy as well! I like this one with their gravy which was sprinkled with Rosemary and some buttered vegetables on the side. This dish is new on the menu so better try it as soon it goes out!πŸ€—πŸ˜

Kare-Kareng Baka (390 Php)
Beef, fresh vegetables all in delish peanut sauce in a native “palayok”. This is the freaking bomb! Or maybe I am over reacting because Kare-Kare has been one of my childhood favorites?! lol But seriously, anyone who will try this dish will agree with me. The sauce is so pure that you can live by eating that alone with rice. hahaha The meat was so tender and the vegetables are still crunchy, fresh! Don’t forget to order this one! πŸ˜

Imang Nene’s Special Seafood Rice ( 180 Php)
This is the epitomy of “kanin pa lang ulam na“. hahah Each grain of rice is coated with crab fat! I was like, “Hhhhhmmm, this is orange not yellow so this must not be Java rice, what is it then?“. The super yummy crab fat is the culprit. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ Mussels and strips of crab sticks tossed here and there, this rice is so tasty! Try it as soon as you can!πŸ€—

There are other dishes that you can try on the menu. They offer breakfast meals which includes pandesal and “silogs”, appetizers ( Chicharon bulaklak, Tokwat baboy etc), salads (Ensaladang pako, Ensaladang talbos ng kamote etc.), seafood dishes (Sizzling gambas, Pritung hito, etc.) vegetable dishes ( Pakbit kapampangan, Chopsuey kapampnagan), rice ( Plain, Adobo, Binagoongan etc.), pork dishes ( Lechon kawali, Crispy pata etc.), beef dishes (Bistig baka, Ligang baka etc.) chicken dishes, ( Chicken roll,  Sizzling chicken etc.), grilled dishes ( Liempo, Pusit etc.), desserts (Suman Bulagta, Turon ala Mode etc.), Snacks and sandwiches ( Bihon, Pancit Luglug etc.),  beverages, beers, shakes and juices! Price range does not go far from the samples above so you do not have to worry about it since most of the meals are good for sharing. Try Imang Nene as soon as you can!πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜‰

Adventurous type of foodie?  Why not try Orchids Thai Cuisine and Sushi Bar!

It Is the first building that you will see when you get to Orchid Gardens. I like how modern and sleek it is from inside and outside. It is mostly walled with glass so you can see the amazing interior.

Apparently, the 2-storey building serves Thai dishes at the first floor and Japanese food at the second. However, you can mix up your orders where ever you are seated since they only have a single menu, so all good! They have two shrines as well to show respect and for blessings so you can feel like you are in a different place as soon as you step in.

There are seats for families, couples, and a Washitsu. Washitsu is a β€œtatami room”  where in you can have more privacy so it is best for confidential meetings or corporate discussions. It is definitely for everyone!

Now, let us check on their awesome menu! You can find authentic Thai and Japanese dishes here. There are different types of appetizers (fresh or fried spring rolls, gyoza), soups (tom yum goong, tom kha gai etc.), salads (som tam thai, yum moo yang, kani salad, poke salad etc.) , stir fried dishes (phad thai, goong phad nam pik pao etc.), desserts ( khao neow ma muang, thai tropical fruit salad), sushi by platter or piece (unagi, tamago, ebi, ika, maguro, tako, uni, etc.), traditional maki ( futo maki, tekka maki, kappa maki, california maki etc.), fushion rolls (dynamite roll, samurai roll, dragon roll etc.), bento boxes (beef/tonkatsu/torikatsu bento) , teppanyaki (beef/ chicken/ika teppan), noodles ( cheese curry ramen, tonkatsu ramen, gomoku ramen yakisoba), donburi (tendon, gyudon, etc.), sashimi by piece or platter ( shake, unagi, saba, maguro, tako etc.), fry ( tempura, tori karaage, etc.)  and rice (gohan, chahan, pandan)! Mouthwatering, I know. My tummy still rumbled while I typed these. Lol Let us check out some of those!

Pam Pia Sot (Fresh Thai Spring rolls) (210 Php)
Fresh vegetables, glass noodles and shrimp wrapped in rice paper with peanut sauce. Totally yum! I love peanut butter so the sauce is definitely a yes for me! I ate a slice with the cilantro leaves inside ( I just needed to emphasize that just in case my Mom is reading this as of now). πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜‚

Tom yum Goong (350 Php)
Spicy-sour soup with prawns, lemon grass, kaffir lime leaves, galangal, and coconut milk. I like this one because it kinds of open my taste buds for flavors. You will notice the fresh kaffir lime leaves floating.

I asked on how do they manage to get fresh ingredients since it is quite evident that the authenticity and flavor of the food that they serve is kept. Sir Gil said that they actually maximize local agricultural businesses by asking them to plant certain herbs and spices. I was completely amazed! That is also good business for our local farmers! Kudos to that! πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘ By the way, I actually used my fingers to eat the prawns, forgive me Mom, it’s finger-licking good. Lol I washed my hands, I think. πŸ˜‚

Phad Thai (320 Php)
Stir-fried rice noodles wih shrimp, egg, beansprouts and tofu. Add ground nuts or Nam Pla Prik to spice things up! If Filipinos use soy sauce most of the time, Thais use fish sauce for their dishes. Nam Pla Prik is usually a mixture of chili, fish sauce, lime juice and a bit of garlic.

I am not a usual noodle fan since I love rice more than anything else but this one, I love! 😍 The noodles is very light, a bit sticky, but firm. The sauce and toppings makes each bite interesting. It got this crunch at some point which I enjoyed. I made sure to have my second serving! I will come back for that!

Khao Neow Ma Muang (240 Php)
Steamed glutinous rice with coconut milk, topped with yellow ripe mango and drizzled with roasted sesame seeds. I sounded like a purring cat when I read the name at first.πŸ±πŸ˜‚ I am sure you tried reading it and  you must have sounded the same. I can not get it right in one go until now. Hahahhaha But that is alright, we all need practice to sound Thai next time we order it.πŸˆπŸ˜‚

This is categorized as dessert however, it reminds me of our local β€œsuman” so I think I can enjoy this one for breakfast as well! It is so good that I wouldn’t mind having it first thing in the morning! Must try! πŸ€—

Ebi Tempura! (300 Php for 5 pcs.)
This is shrimp tempura with sauce. I just needed to put an exclamation point for this one since it is one of my all time favorites so I will be biased for this one. You just have to order it, simple as that. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜

Bristol Salmon Roll ( 350 Php for 8 slices)
Sushi slice topped with tasty salmon slices and tobiko (flying fish roe) which comes with mustard sauce, shrimp tempura and kani inside. The salmon melts in your mouth so I barely chew when I ate it. 😍There were 5 of us but I ate most of it. Oisshiiiiii πŸ’—

Gomoku Ramen (300 Php)
Home made noodles with seafood base, with bits of chicken, fish and vegetable slices. They were resourceful enough to make their own noodles since they have their very own noodle maker, how cool is that? 😎This dish is perfect for the rainy days and is a comfort food. My Mom will surely like it since it is very healthy as well! I was like, β€œoh Naruuutoooo!”. Childish, I know. Lol Kids will like it as well since the flavor is not very strong. This dish is for everyone!πŸ€—

Pandan Juice (50 Php)
A very refreshing drink flavored with pandan and topped with Chia seeds. Yep, I was amazed to see those eyes again. Desiny? Lol I think, I was too loud about it that I was like, β€œ uuuuuy, may eyes ulet!”, so everyone laughed heartily with me. πŸ˜‚ This one is something that you will have again and again and again and again… 😍

Take note that you will notice chili symbols on the side of some dishes found on the menu. I actually thought they were quotation marks, hahahah, but apparently, those are symbols on how hot and spicy the dish is. You have the option to request for it to go from hot🌢, mild🌢🌢, extra hot🌢🌢🌢. We just went with hot and yeu hah, I don’t think I will go any further than that. πŸ˜‚ You can try them though!πŸ€—πŸ’—

Carnivore? Why not try URACK?!

This place is two thumbs up for me! They offer amazing steaks, chicken dishes and many more! I tried their baby back ribs with an Apple flavored beverage and I had no regrets! The meat falls of the bone, no kidding! 😎😍

Another thing that I like about this place is that they have available boardgames and other toys for kids and for kids at heart and mind like me! hahaha

At least, they are not stuck with their iPads or other gadgets while eating and this will promote quality time! Freaking awesome!😎 This is great for families, all-boy night out, or barkada trip! Visit it as soon as you can! May I join?😍

Look! Even babies hang out in here. πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜…πŸ˜‚

What else can you find at Orchid Gardens? If you want a cozy time alone, with your date or friends, you may try Matti’s Cafe! This is a cafe situated with in Orchid Gardens. Right next to it is, Tactics, a gaming center for all the techy and cool gamers out there! Of course, 7 Eleven! You can go to this store if you just want to get chips, drinks and other necessities and if you are on a tight budget. πŸ˜‰ By the way, just in case The Tavern is already full, you don’t have to worry because you can also check in to a nearby motel, Mystic Lane, ( just 5-minute walking distance from the Orchid Gardens). Like their page to see their current promotions and pricing!

Soon to open is The Forum and The Orchidarium,   Event Centers that can host weddings, corporate parties and many more! It is still under construction when I checked it out but guess what, 7 weddings have been booked already! I was like,” It is not yet fully constructed and furnished but guests are lining up for it! Wooow! This is something that we should watch out for!“. So let us all stay tuned and wait for this amazing place to be done!

Orchid Gardens Resort is an amazing, convenient and accessible all-in-one resort with in the metro that everyone can enjoy! The style and concept of this place is contemporary but the material application is more on natural materials like stones and wood according to its architect, Mr. Carlo Aguas. I love the innovative idea because this place allows you to relax and have fun while you are with in the city so it is hassle free! πŸ€—Orchid Gardens has more new and inventive projects soon to make sure that it has something to offer to everyone! We all better watch out for those!

The staff, as a whole, is very accommodating and eager to assist clients. They thoroughly assisted me with checking out the whole complex and was patient with my inquiries. Excellent customer service! Keep it up! Sir Gil Velasco, their General Manager, was the one who invited me to see this awesome place. I appreciate the warm welcome and the fact that he values what bloggers can do. More power to everyone! I see great management values and principles are applied so to anyone who is planning to visit Orchid Gardens Resort, you are in good hands. πŸ˜‰

Why not bring your friends and loved ones  for a swim or a different dining experience at Orchid Gardens soon and just agree with all the 3,000+ words that I said above? It is something that you should not miss! Trust me.πŸ˜‰

Thanks for this incredible experience Orchid Gardens Management team! Thanks Sir Gil Velasco  for the invite! Totally enjoyed and appreciated it! Thanks Fred, as always!  Until next time!πŸ’—

See yah soon! πŸ€—πŸ˜Ž

Comos, biggest food park in Pampanga

Where can your 100 PHP bill take you? A Happy Meal, maybe? A short trip to the school canteen, perhaps? What if I tell you that you can actually get good food, great music and awesome people with that purple paper bill? Believe it or not, you actually can at Comos! πŸ˜‰

Comos will be the best place to satiate your cravings! This is the biggest food park in Pampanga, proudly showcasing 70, yep, you read it right, 70 amazing food stalls that will never make you run out of options. Comos is at Villa Filipina, Brgy. San Juan, San Fernando, Pampanga and it opens from 5 PM till 12:30 AM. Just like their online pages to know about their promotions or schedule. Follow these lights to get to Comos!

Fred, my two sibs and I went to Comos last Monday, May 1, Labor Day.
While on our way…
Catcat: Ate, I want Carbonara. Can we eat that?
Me: Sure, if it is available.
Catcat: How about cake?! I want caaaaake!
Me: We are going to a food park, not a cafe so let’s see what we can get sweetie.
Catcat: (pouts)πŸ˜—πŸ˜—πŸ˜—
Me: πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

We arrived around 6 to 6:30 so the place is almost full and we went around to look for a place to stay. Tents and blankets with mini pillows and tables were strewn at some areas of the open field. There are tables and chairs available as well. People are slowly flocking the place. Ha! We found a gazebo right next to Tazza Uno.

Just look at this amazing crowd! 😎

Catcat and I immediately went around the food park. I don’t want to keep her hopes up initially and make her sad afterwards so I am actually praying that out of the 70 stalls, at least one of them offers a freaking pasta or cake. lol Comos offers rows and rows of barbecue stalls, options for Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, native kapampangan cuisines, burger stops, pizza stalls, local streetfood, lemonade and cooler stands, coffee and smoothies stalls, beverages and liquor stands and thank God it existed, a stall for sweets and pasta! We tried a couple of the food available!

Burjer’s diner, is pretty much being swarmed by people because of their very uniquely colored buns! There is black, green, yellow, orange, redishpurple and the regular burger bun. The flavor varies as well. We tried the green one, Bacony Burj! This one comes with bacon and barbecue sauce. Pretty cool! It was only for 140 pHp and there is an option for additional patties as well. Must try!

Catcat is already staring at Pasta Overload. She seriously wants it. πŸ˜‚ We tried their Carbonara. It was less than 120 pHp but the pasta and sauce was good and it even came with a garlic toasted bread. Good food for a very low price! πŸ€”

We then saw a stand for Japanese food, Itadakimasu. Catcat was already pointing at the Corn Dogs. They were funny looking corn dog bites with eyes. Kids will surely love it! However, we were not able to try it since it was not available at that time.
Me: What is that?
Catcat: I don’t know, but they have eyeeeesss! (freaky grin)
Me: hhhhmmm, so being freaky runs in the family. hahahah πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Too bad, but there is always a next time. I ended up ordering their Filipino themed maki rolls, Japinoy.  They used smoked fish, mango and cucumber for this roll and it is lightly sprinkled with toasted garlic bits on top. Very pinoy! I enjoyed this one. Try it too!

Barbecue is something that you should not miss! There are loads of options for this one. I randomly picked a Barbecue stall and ordered 3 pork bbqs. It was only for 35 pHp per stick, very affordable! You can get rice servings as well if you want too!

Have you seen a local bibingka that went a la mode?

Try it at Comos! 😁

For the drinks, there are loads of optionsWe tried Thirsty Buddha and Tazza Uno. I like the fact that I see how fresh and cleanly our drinks were made. We tried Thirsty Buddha’s Hong Kong style lemon iced tea and it was very refreshing! Lemon was actually squeezed in front of us so freshness guaranteed!

Next was Tazza Uno. This one is familiar to me since they also have a stall at Moderno Food Park which I blogged about months ago. I met Sir Dexter who is one of the main foundafions of Tazza Uno’s stalls. I ordered an Oreo smoothie and I was very much delighted to receive an additional complimentary smoothie from Tazza Uno as well! Oreo smoothie can come with or without a shot of coffee so it is good for all ages! I definitely appreciated the generosity. To all my readers, please try Tazza Uno! They offer smoothies, coffee and frappes. They have stalls at Moderno Food Park and Hungry Yard in Tarlac! More power to you guys!

I noticed this Lemonade stall that offers a huge pail-like pitcher which is good for sharing. Cute and funny straws were hanging at the rim and lights goes in and out at the bottom. It was good for 250 pHp. I wanted to try it but I glanced at Catcat then back to the pitcher, back and forth for like multiple times.I had a thought…

Me: Nope, I am sure she would love to blow bubbles into that thing just like how much I wanted to do so. hahahaha. It is doomed to happen. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Excuse me about the gross thought. Lol
It looks fun so maybe you can try it with your friends when you come over at Comos!

Aside from the fact that it is the biggest food park in Pampanga, what will be the reason why you would want to visit Comos? It is the live performance every single night! Not all food parks offer this type of combo.

Comos is able to give off that Coachella vibe. What with all the local bands that they invite every single night plus their fire dancing performance! We were able to enjoy music from two bands namely, Slowdown and Southburger and Cheese. Slowdown is an all-boy acoustic group who did not actually “slowed down” with their awesome rap performace of great OPM hits like Hinahanap Kita, Bagsakan and many more! They were funny as well since they throw off jokes in between songs. Totally cool so I enjoyed it!

Southburger and Cheese is quite interesting as well. They are also an acoustic group which performed hits from The Beatles down to Brownman Revival. They also did an impressive job by granting song requests from the audience just like one of my requested songs which is “Lintik” a few minutes after receiving my piece of paper. Well done! You will notice that their percussion player uses djembe instead of a beat box or drum set. Djembe is a rope-tuned skin-covered goblet drum played with bare hands which originally came from West Africa. As a drum player myself, I find it cool that he was able to maximize it with their performances. Kudos to that! Good job to Comos as well by supporting local talents and giving them the breaks that they deserve! Keep it up! πŸ€—

We were entertained by their firedancers as well! It was so wonderful to see them dancing with fire! You don’t have to go that far now to witness one, Boracay can wait. πŸ˜‰ They used different props and did stunts to wow the crowd.

They even invited some of the spectators to sit on the ground while they made the fire sling thingy go around in a halo like motion. I joined, obviously, and I became an angel for once! Or maybe not. πŸ˜‚lol It was so freaking amaaaaazzzinnng! That was some serious fire bending! #avatar 😎 hahah You better don’t miss these fun events!

There is also an activity area for kids. Well the whole place is quite safe but there is an area for certain games and a place where you can release stress. It is called Hugot Bes?. It is like the famous β€œTakshapo Wall” where in you can throw plates, glasses, etc to a part of the wall which corresponds to the main cause of your stress. Sounds fun! πŸ˜‚

I like the fact that Comos serves very affordable food which starts from 15 pHp and up. Your 100 PHP will surely go a long way!  You can bring your family, friends, bf/gf and have a good time! Just make sure to come early since the whole place is easily full!

Grab your sneakers and visit Comos as soon as you can! Food, music, fire, yes, fire in a cool way, hahah awaits you! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜Ž

See yah!πŸ€—
