Yard Food Park (Angeles), what do you got for 4 weirdos?

4 weird foodies in a car are on their way to check out Yard Food Park. One is an almost-Korean sweetheart, Yna, my most favorite person to bug, Fred, and the inseparable pair of crazy sisters, Clang and Cring. Ha! Guess who’s who! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜Ž

We actually don’t know where Yard Food Park is exactly but there is nothing that Google can’t find, well, except for every moment that my friends lose their glasses or the remote control. πŸ˜‚

Google it and tada! It is found at Magalang-Pandan Road Corner Brgy. Mining Road, Angeles City. Yard Food Park is hard to miss. As soon as you see this sign, you know you are in the right place.πŸ˜‰

Operating hours will be from Tuesday to Sunday, open from 4PM to 12 MN except for Friday and Saturday where in they close at 2AM. You may like their online page to see a map and to know about their most recent events and promotions. Try to visit it as soon as you can! The main establishment is quite modern with all the graffiti and the updated and stacked up cargo or shipping containers which are used to form a 3-storey open building.

The parking lot is at the back and there are 2 entrance, one is from the parking lot and the other is the one that is accessible from the main road. Huge murals of Bruno Mars, Apl de Ap, Michael Jackson, John Lenon and Bob Marley can be seen.

It looks like some walls were strewn with paint and was left dripping until dry. I like how mixed up the designs for the tables and chairs are. Some were customized drum containers, a table with a Mosaic design, high chairs, there was even one which looked like a stool that is made of wooden twigs, (my sister can not sit there, she will pulverize it, kidding! I love you Clang! πŸ˜‹) metal and wooden benches and the ever durable Monoblock. πŸ€—

I don’t know about you but I think, Yard Food Park is screaming with Art. πŸ‘

Which is great! Millennials dig new, cool and instagrammable places! There is a deck at the very top of the building where seats are available and is great for viewing the starry night sky or if you want to enjoy the view with the cool breeze. Yard Food Park is roofless so that can be a challenge for the rainy season but they came up with a temporary solution by using long-white tough material. So no worries, you can still visit it if its drizzling.

Be careful with going up and down the stairs! Okay? Kids, please watch your step. (A note to myself. lol)

The whole area is interesting and unique but what about the food? Let us check them out! There are around 20+ food stalls that you can try! We were able to try some of them but here are the ones that were open, if I missed some of them, you may leave a comment below so we can add them in our list! Here they are!

Urban Crunch, Pizza Panada, Papa Dough Chimney Cake, Tom Tom Mongolian BBQ, Tempura Zen, Wing Bucket, Halal Kabab Express, Juice Lab, Blends and Barrels, Sweet Illusion, Ban Chak Ban Chak Korean Food, Sunny Side Up, Waffs Egg Waffles and Ice Cream, Stoned, Ha-ha Patata, Cheese Scraping Shop Melt by Ranch 90’s Diner, Kanto Currry, Wrap Eat Out, Dotonburi Takoyaki, Ba Ngoai Vietnamese Cuisine, Steak House, House of Frappe, Wild Apron, Green Cube Chicken House, Frozen Hub Creamy Nitrogen, Wipeout Ribs and Grills, Ugly Monkey, Flame Grill Cartel, and Sushi Bar.

The price ranges from 100Php and above. My gang was able to try a couple of their food and drinks! Check them out!πŸ€—

Chicken Alfredo by Pizza Panada ( 345 Php)

A thin but soft crusted pizza topped with Alfredo sauce, mozzarella, chicken breast, ham, mushroom and onion! I usually get the pizza with tomato sauce but I chose this one for a change and I had no regrets. If you want to make your cheat day worth it, try one of their pizzas! This is awesome for sharing but I like it so much so I think I can actually finish most of it. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‹

Shrimp Tempura by Tempura Zen ( 99 Php)

4 nicely breaded shrimp tempura will make your 100 peso bill worth it! Add up the fact, that they are currently running a β€œselfie contest” with 5 000 Php worth of cash prize! Like their page for the mechanics. Break a leg for those who will join!

Tteokbokki by Ban Chak Ban Chak Korean Food

( 120 Php)

Annyeong haseyo! It was my first time to eat Spicy Rice Cake! Yna ordered it and it was fun greeting the owner in his native language. I was very curious and excited since I only see this wolfed down by Kim Bok Joo. ( raise your right pinkie if you know her! πŸ˜‚) It was actually a mix of rice cake, fish cake, and two other long and round ingredients that I’m not familiar with. πŸ˜‚ It was sweet and spicy! I understand now why it is one of the famous street food in Korea and on why they like to eat this when the weather is cold. πŸ˜‚ I enjoyed my first Tteokbokki, try it too! Machiso!

Soy-Garlic Flavored Chicken Wings by Wing Bucket (165 PHP for 6 pieces)

A bucket of crispy chicken wings with my fave soy-garlic flavor sprinkled with sesame seeds! The pricing may vary depending on how many chicken cuts you would like to have. Yna tried the one which was good for 6, not bad. πŸ€—

Nachos fries and Potato Cheese Balls from Ha-Ha Patata ( 175 Php and 99Php)

An overloaded boat filled with nachos, fries, meat, salsa, shredded and melted cheese goodness! Best when hot! You can use your hand but you may need a spoon and fork to shovel this one. Hahaha That is how heavy it is! It is also great for sharing so your barkada will surely enjoy this! Try it soon!

Potato cheese balls is something that I would love to just pop in my mouth in one go if it wasn’t hot. πŸ˜‚ It is filled with soft potato and a cheesy surprise inside and is topped with white cream sauce. Kids and adults will surely love this one! Yummy!

Don’s Haven (All Meat) by Flame Grill Cartel

( 235 Php)

This is one of the Big and Black Burgers which is a stacked combo of black big buns, grilled double patty, bacon, ham, cheese, onions, jalapenos, bbq sauce, Cartel’s secret sauce and pickled cucumber. My mouth watered while typing those out. Hhahhaha It was nicely served in a wooden chopping board. Fred ordered this one and I knew from his look that he was calculating on how to fit it on his mouth without getting messy. πŸ€”πŸ˜‚ They provided him with a plastic knife and plastic hand gloves but it was so big and juicy that you just can’t help getting a few drops of sauce on your shirt. Highly recommended for the boys and for the girls who, like me,  just don’t mind gaping their mouth wide open! *munch*munch*munch*

Oreo Ice Cream by Frozen Hub Creamery Nitrogen

This one was cool! We actually saw how it was made. They use a machine that gives off that smokey effect while the ice cream was made. It was actually cold and Yna really enjoyed it. Hahaha

We weren’t able to try the Angel’s Breath which will make you look like you are in Baguio but that is alright, I will try it next time!

Bacon Takoyaki by Donbori Takoyaki (110 Php for 6 pcs.)

Takoyaki is a ball-shaped Japanese snack which is usually filled with diced octopus or tempura, ginger and green onion, brushed with takoyaki sauce, sprinkled with aonori and dried bonito flakes. This one has bacon instead of octopus so it is quite a modern twist. I popped a ball in my mouth in one swift move and enjoyed it!

Papa Dough Overload and Miss You Tiramisu by Papa Dough ( 179 Php and 169 Php)

Papa dough overload is literally overloaded. πŸ˜‚ It is a mound of freshly baked chimney cake doughnut topped with Nips, salted caramel popcorn, cloud 9, chocolate sprinkles, biscuit with icing. The inside is actually stuffed with nutella and marshmallows! Who would say no to this!

Miss You Tiramisu on the other hand got the same chimney cake doughnut, same ice cream but this one is stuffed with tiramisu instead of nutella and is topped with peanuts, marshmallows, peanuts, and Stick O! I am sure you would also go snappy with photos because both ice creams are super instagrammable! Not to be missed!

Assorted munchkins by Papa Dough ( 99 Php)

Blueberry, Peachmango and Nutella filled puff balls that just burst in your mouth just in case you decide to gobble it! This one is a great snack for kids and is a nice dessert if in any case that you don’t want to go for the ice cream options.πŸ‘πŸ˜‰

Cucumber Juice and Blue Lemonade in a Bulb by Juice Lab ( 100 Php each)

We had fun with these! They were basically the normal juice that we drink but I like the idea of drinking in a bulb. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜Ž Their receipts looked like prescription paper and their sellers were wearing white lab coats which I find cool! They were living up to the name of Juice Lab. Thumbs up!

Frozen Margarita by Ugly Monkey ( 180 Php)

A slushy cocktail which is a blended mix of Triple Sec, Tequila, lime juice and is garnished with freshly sliced lime and topped with cherry.

It was Yna’s first cocktail in her 21 years of Earthly existence. Woohoo! It was an honor to witness it. Hahhaha She loved it! As her β€œAte”, I wanted to make sure that she learns how to drink responsibly and that she goes home safe and sane or her Mom might kill me so I checked on her once in awhile and she handled it well! Good job! Cheers and more to come!

Those are the food and drinks that we have tried but there are so much more so you can go at the Yard and try their steaks, Vietnamese food, curries, kababs and many more!

How about entertainment? Oh you will be surprised! They have bands to keep the nice mood while you enjoy your food every Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday. DJ’s are on every Friday as well! We were able to enjoy  Tutzieroll’s acoustic performance! Just the way you are, Brighter than the sun, Everything, Emotions are some of the songs that they performed. I like the fact that everyone in their band can sing! Kudos to that! πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

Not only that! Two pantomime artists roam around the food park to make sure that everyone is having a jolly and fun moment! One of them even proposed to my sister! Hahahahahah To the guys out there who does not have any ideas yet on how to get a β€œYes”, try what Mr. White did. My sister was just laughing loudly so it must be a yes?πŸ˜‚

However, Yna friendzoned one of them. Ouch. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

She’s one tough cookie. πŸ€”πŸ˜‚ #fistbump

Velvet Ganache, the repeat. πŸ’—

Bonjour Monsieur et Madamoisele, bienvenue a’ la Velvet Ganache!

Don’t you worry, we are still going to talk about the lovely French Boulangerie and Patiserrie, Velvet Ganache, Β located at Greenfields, San Fernando, Pampanga which is owned by Chef Vince Garcia, who believed in the positive effect of social media and word of mouth. πŸ˜‰

I couldn’t agree more. No wonder the great Jose Rizal chose to wield the pen instead of the sword. Β I choose to wield the keyboard! πŸ˜‚ I got my own font style so typing would be best. πŸ€—πŸ˜‚πŸ˜Ž Nothing beats the speed of a positive feedback, a few click on your mobile device, a gal who loves anything that is edible, affordable and classy, and at least 5 to 10 mbps of data speed. Voila! You got a fan who is very much happy to share the wonderful experience that she got. So here my friends is Velvet Ganache, the second encounter.😍

We were back at Velvet Ganache last 12th of March, to claim my prize as the Best Blogger Shot winner last month. Here is the link to the winning post!Β

Velvet Ganache, a place or a painting?

I brought my family with me to check out Velvet Ganache for the second time. As soon as we enter the place, we were welcomed warmly. There I met again JM, Mr. Nice, and Jester, Mr. Nice 2, which were mentioned in my previous blog about this place.

Ding-a-ling!

Me: Hiiii! (perky as usualπŸ˜‚)

JM and Jester gave me friendly and warm smiles, still dressed neatly with the adorable bow ties.

Jester: Hello Ma’am! Welcome to Velvet Ganache! Ilan po kayo?

Me: Hello! I’m surely back! And yes, I’m with my family this time. We are 5. Do you need my ID?

Jester: No need na po Ma’am. We know you by now. πŸ™‚

Me:Woooow! Okay, thanks! Yeah, I made sure I wore the same clothes, just in case. Ahahahahha πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ŽπŸ€—

Jester: (Huge smile) Have a seat po while we prepare the meal.

I looked for a place that can accommodate five persons as the place was almost full that Sunday night. Cheers to good business and happy customers!

Ice cold water was served, followed by Iced tea. Two mountain-full of salad came after. One was Kani Salad, the other was Ceasar Salad. Kani Salad which was a plate full of shreds and cuts of lettuce, cucumber, carrots, mango, crab stick, dried sea weed with Japanese Mayo.

Β The Ceasar Salad on the other hand was a mix of cuts of lettuce, bacon, a bit of olive oil and mayo, croutons, and loads of powdered parmesan cheese (which I love!).Β

Both were so good and fresh! It made me think that a garden is just near, where ingredients can be taken from. All of their salad plates are good for 165 pHp, affordable isn’t it? πŸ€—πŸ˜

My brother is giving me a strange look by now. πŸ€”

Bro: Did you memorize the menu? I never saw you get one.

I snickered too loudly since my mouth was full of greens. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ My mom gave me a light nudge on the side, the prim and proper woman that she is, since some of the other guests are staring at our direction.

Me: This is the prize for the blogging contest that I told you about.. Enjoy it while it last! πŸ˜˜πŸ€—

Two plates of pasta was served afterwards. One is Jackie Chan and Carabonara. Both were served using spaghetti as pasta but with different sauces. The Carbonara has a very mild taste. The usual Carbonara is made by eggs, cheese, bacon, olive oil, salt and pepper. Some use roux.Β

Roux , pronounced as β€œroo”, is a thickener for sauce and soups that combines equal parts or flour and butter.

Jackie Chan on the other hand is very intriguing. The taste of onion and garlic is very evident, with the pieces of chicken and mushroom tossed here and there. I was nodding while eating this one. So good!Β

Pasta is al dente and both plates were served with spanish bread on the side. There are other pasta dishes that you can try! There is Napolitana, Chicken con Pesto, Spicy Aglio Alio Con Pollo, Bolognese, and Seafood Tomato Cream pasta. Just prepare 175 pHp to 215 pHp for their pasta dishes.

Next on the menu was Bulgogi wings. It was a mound of crispy fried chicken wings surrounded in a bowl-full or sweet and spicy sauce. It kinda reminded me of the medieval castles, ringed in moat. πŸ˜‚ I guess, guys will like this one since it is almost a very good partner with beer but soda will work as well. One bite of this chicken wing dipped into that sauce and you will feel your ears go red. Hahahha It is just one of the dishes in their “Wings Madness” menu. There is Hickory Barbecue wings, Korean Spicy Wings, and Spicy Buffalo Wings. These crispylicious chicken wings are good for 219 pHP only. A must try!Β

Bro: When will they stop delivering food? These are too good. hahahhaha
Me: πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Pizza anyone? I just saw a 12- 14 inch of pizza goodness being catered to us. I was like,” Drumroll please….”. 😍

I immediately made room for the pizza slice on my plate, took a slice and was amazed at how gooey and stringy theΒ  cheese was while I pull a slice from the platter. It was filled with fresh meat, tomatoes, onions, pulled together by the sweet and barbecue flavored sauce and cheese. My eyes grew wider and wider while I munch on it. πŸ˜‚I looked at my elder sis as she took a slice as well. We were basically talking with our eyes. πŸ˜‚
Β Her eyes: (almost popping out because of the yummy surprise) OMG! For real? This is so good!Β
My eyes: (already popped out of the sockets, lol) I know right!Β

We must have looked really hilarious will all the eye bulging moment that happened. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

It is freaking good!Β
I like how firm, thin and light the dough was. The sauce was thick and heavy but it was able to hold everything together. Kudos to that! I am guessing that what we had was the Cowboy pizza, there are more flavors though. You can try their Hawaiian, Pepperoni, Norwegian Smoked Salmon, Farmers, and Four Cheese Pizza. All of these can be ordered for 399 pHp only!Β

It took us almost an hour to actually try everything. We ordered for coffee and desserts afterwards. I was excited to see their cute cups again! We tried their Cappucinno, Dark Mocha and Brewed Coffee.Β

I ordered for their delectable cakes as well namely,Β  Red Velvet Chocolate Torte, Choco Espresso Cake, and Dark and White Chocolate Mousse.Β

I ordered for another slice of Red Velvet Chocolate Torte because my baby sister devoured it with in a couple of minutes. I was just left laughing at how much she loved it! Awww, she is so me! πŸ˜πŸ˜‚

See? Such a cutie! πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

The other cakes were really toothsome as well! I might be biased because I have a secret affair with coffee but everyone with me that night totally agrees! I like how light their cakes are. They are not too sweet so you will surely not notice that you are taking one bite at a time. The prices for the cakes, cupcakes, sweets and bread vary so just prepare 200 pHp to make sure that you can at least try one of their toothsome selection!

There are more options on their menu so you would not run out of choices. There are Cake Shakes ( 199 pHp each), Shakes which can be Matcha, Java Chip, Salted Caramel etc. ( 159 pHp each), Main Courses which can be Rosemary Roasted Chicken, Steak Ala- minute Beef, Chicken bucket and many more ( 250 – 700 pHp), Fries Toppings ( 99- 160 pHp), Burger ( 215 pHp each),Β  Starters like Mozarella stick, Chicken finger, Calamares etc. ( 199- 215 pHp each), Sandwiches ( 215 Php each) and Quesadillas ( 199 Php each).Β

My little sister even filled up their survey form. Another satisfied customer! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Mixing Mexican, American and French dishes will surely leave you with endless options!Β Velvet Ganache is bad news to my waist line, but that is alright! Round is still a shape.πŸ˜‚ Better try this place as soon as you can!Β

See yah! πŸ˜‰πŸ€—

Thank you Velvet Ganache! More power to you guys! Keep serving great food while providing amazing customer service to keep your clients happy! πŸ€—πŸ‘
